By the Hem of His Garment

Acrylic on Canvas

Inspired by Scripture

Mark 5:27–29 — “She came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, because she thought, ‘If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.’ Immediately her bleeding stopped.”

Mark 5:34 — “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”

Description
By the Hem of His Garment captures a moment of desperate, unwavering faith.

For twelve years, this woman had suffered. She had spent everything she had searching for healing, yet instead of getting better, she grew worse. But when she heard about Jesus, something inside of her believed that one touch would be enough.

She didn’t need to be noticed by the crowd. She didn’t need the perfect words or the perfect prayer. She simply pressed through everything standing between her and Jesus and reached for the hem of His garment.

And immediately, everything changed.

But Jesus gave her more than physical healing. He stopped. He saw her. And He called her “Daughter.”

This painting represents that sacred place where desperation meets faith and faith encounters the presence of Jesus. It is a reminder that when we reach for Him, we are reaching for more than an answer—we are reaching for His presence, His promises, His healing, His restoration, His freedom, and His love.

What the world says is impossible, Jesus says is possible.

What has been delayed is not forgotten.
What has been broken can be restored.
And what feels like the end may be the very place where God begins something new.

My Prayer Over This Painting
My prayer is that everyone who sees this painting would feel their faith begin to rise again.

If you have prayed for something for years, if you have grown weary waiting, or if circumstances have told you there is no hope left, I pray you would find the strength to reach for Jesus one more time.

May the Holy Spirit remind you that Jesus sees you in the crowd. He knows your story. He knows the pain you have carried, the prayers you have prayed, and the places where hope has grown tired.

I pray His presence meets you there.

May you encounter the love of the One who does not simply see your need—He sees you. May you hear Him calling you His beloved. May His presence bring healing to wounded places, freedom where you have felt bound, restoration where something has been broken, and renewed faith where doubt has taken hold.

May this painting remind you that you don't need perfect words to come to Jesus. Sometimes faith simply looks like reaching your hand toward Him and believing:

“If I can just touch the hem...”

Keep reaching.
Keep believing.
Keep pressing toward Jesus.

There is healing in His presence.
There is restoration in His hands.
There is freedom in His name.

And there is power in one touch of Jesus.

“Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.”
