Still Waters, Steadfast Peaks

Oil on Canvas | 18x24

Inspired by Scripture

Psalm 121:1–2 — “I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”

Description
Still Waters, Steadfast Peaks is a reminder to lift our eyes.

The mountains stand strong and unwavering, reflecting the steadfastness and faithfulness of God. Seasons change. Storms come and go. Circumstances shift beneath our feet—but He remains.

The still waters represent the peace that comes when we stop striving, quiet the noise around us, and rest in the presence of God. Even when life feels uncertain, His presence offers a place where our hearts can become still again.

Sometimes we spend so much time looking at the mountain in front of us that we forget to look toward the One who created it. Psalm 121 reminds us that our help does not come from our own strength or from having every answer. Our help comes from the Lord—the Maker of Heaven and earth.

The reflection upon the water is also a reminder that when our hearts become still before Him, we begin to see more clearly. His peace settles the waters within us, His presence restores our perspective, and His faithfulness becomes greater than whatever stands before us.

My Prayer Over This Painting
My prayer is that everyone who sees this painting would feel an invitation from the Lord to be still, lift your eyes, and remember where your help comes from.

If you are facing a mountain that feels too high to climb, may you be reminded that the God who created the mountain is standing with you.

If the waters of your life have felt restless, may the presence of the Holy Spirit quiet the waves within you. May anxiety give way to peace, fear give way to faith, and striving give way to surrender.

I pray that you would feel the steadfast presence of God surrounding you. May He refresh your spirit, restore your strength, and remind you that you do not have to carry everything on your own.

When you don't know what comes next, lift your eyes.

When your heart becomes weary, return to His still waters.

When everything around you feels uncertain, remember that your God remains steadfast.

Your help comes from the Lord.
Your peace is found in His presence.
And the One who made the mountains is still holding you.
