Inspired by Scripture
John 13:14–15 — “Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.”
John 7:38 — “Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”
Description
Washing of Feet captures one of the most intimate expressions of the heart of Jesus. The King of Kings knelt before His disciples, took their feet into His hands, and lovingly washed away the dust from where they had walked.
This painting represents an invitation to come into the presence of Jesus and simply let Him wash over you.
The water represents more than physical cleansing—it symbolizes the living water of Jesus and the presence of the Holy Spirit. It is like an open Heaven pouring over you, washing away the weight of the journey, refreshing the weary places, cleansing what needs to be released, and bringing new life where you have felt dry.
There is something beautiful about allowing Jesus to meet us at our feet—the very place that carries the evidence of where we have walked. He is not afraid of our dirt, our wounds, our past, or the roads that brought us to Him. He kneels close, touches those places with love, and invites us to receive.
It is a picture of humility, surrender, cleansing, intimacy, and extravagant love.
My Prayer Over This Painting
My prayer is that when you see this painting, you would feel as though Heaven has opened and the presence of the Holy Spirit is washing over you like living water.
May you feel Jesus close.
May His presence wash over every weary, wounded, dry, or hidden place within you. May the things you have carried for too long begin to fall away—fear, shame, disappointment, heaviness, unforgiveness, and the dust of seasons you were never meant to carry into the next.
I pray you don't feel the need to clean yourself up before coming to Him. Instead, may you simply sit in His presence and let Jesus wash your feet. Let Him love you. Let Him restore you.
May His living water refresh your spirit, renew your mind, heal your heart, and fill you again with the Holy Spirit.
And as you receive the servant-hearted love of Jesus, may you carry that same love into the world—loving, serving, and meeting others right where they are.
Come into His presence.
Let Heaven open.
Let the living water flow.
And let His presence wash over you.
